What's New

Aboriginal Housing in crises.

Overcrowding, dilapidated housing and general unaffordability are issues faced daily by many of Canada’s Aboriginal families, especially those living on settlements and reserves, where it’s been suggested that 49% of existing housing is in need of repair, and an additional 85,000 housing units are required to address the current supply shortage.

Welcome to the online home of The Canadian National Shelter Program.

The Canadian National Shelter Program is building prototype affordable housing units for use in northern Canada, specifically the Ring of Fire area. We are also performing research and development on the use of synthetic and natural aggregate concrete solutions and a comprehensive building system for rapid, far-reaching deployment.
